Great sticks. I have purchased the Steve Gadd black model wood and nylon tips from Steve Weiss as well. I actually like all 3 models and use all 3 models. I would recommend all 3 models to be honest. If you don't care for the black paint, then pick up a few pair of the natural finish model. Nice balance and sound with the barrel tips. You can't go wrong using the Steve Gadd signature sticks. These are fast and very controllable sticks. The shorter length really does not make a difference and they are very durable and work with just about any genre of music. I have been trying so many sticks, but these I always have in my stick bag.
