The larger drum head was slightly too small for the drum, making the drumhead extremely tight. This sometimes happens.... the manufacturer is trying to optimize his use of materials..... occasionally reducing waste by using marginal pieces. Hopefully, it will get "broken in" before the drum head tears. Upon delivery, the carrying case had a tear in it and some of the straps on the smaller drum have partial tears in them already and the tuners had already put scratch marks on the drum but for the price, I guess beggars can't be choosers. I would only recommend this set for people who absolutely cannot afford a pricier set. If I had it to do over again, I would have waited and purchased the more expensive set.
