For a mellow, focused sound, the YV-2700 Silver Studio vibe uses matte finish aluminum alloy bars.

The exclusive Yamaha tuning method used ensures true pitch and full sound. The bars also feature a silver, matte finish for a warm sound. The graduated bars produce full tone and projection throughout the instrument's range.

The height adjustable frame allows for the most comfortable playing position for all players. The oversized, swivel pedal allows the player freedom of movement over the complete keyboard. The durable frame has upper and lower crossbar supports and horizontal leg supports. These maintain stability, and therefore playability of the instrument. The quiet motor with silent pause and silent fan speed slider control, allows musical expression without unwanted noise.

The 4" oversized casters allow for easy movement of the instrument. Two casters lock on the player's side. The locks are easy to reach and secure the instrument during pedaling.

We bought the Yamaha 3.0 Octave Silver Studio Vibraphone with Motor for our daughter who will be a sophomore in high school, playing for the jazz band and advanced orchestra. It was an investment decision (the instrument will likely stay in the family forever). It is probably one of the most beautiful sounds you can have fill hour home. It is well-built and easy to assemble without the need for any tools. It comes in a huge box that the carrier wheels onto your driveway on a wood palette. It's a small event just receiving the thing and opening the layers of packaging (which we were grateful for). Although Yamaha had actually shipped the instrument within a few days of order, they are slow to send tracking info to Weiss. Jim O'Connor, in customer service, was helpful in contacting Yamaha and letting us know the instrument was indeed on its way and emailed us tracking info as soon as it was available. Good vibes all the way around!
