I have found these hi-hats to be very responsive. The perfect combination of warmth and power, softness and projection -- at all sound levels. I tend to be a purist and these hi-hats are just that for all around drumming.

New Beats are the classic hat sound, bar none. If you are newish to the drumset, or are upgrading from those ghastly OEM hats that came with your basic newbie drumset "With REAL Cymbals!!", or have been fiddling with these hats and those hats, and just haven't found The Right sound--stop here. The 14" New Beats are where to go home! They are quick, have good cut, and will never disappoint you. I got lucky at a vintage drum show and scored a 15" set of 60's-era New Beats, and wouldn't sell them for a Harley! They just sound so... right. Buy a set of these, and your hat problems are over!
