Steve Weiss Music is proud to offer ZIMS Cymbal and hardware cleaner and while it is new to us it's certainly not new to the drum world.


The ZIMS cleaner is a liquid that doesn't have any abrasive qualities but rather relies on a chemical reaction to work it's magic. We found it easy to apply evenly to the cymbal, quick in it's reaction and simple to rinse clean leaving mildly "shop worn" cymbals looking brand new! Dirtier "crusty" cymbals will require a different approach but we recommend you begin and finish your cleaning with the ZIMS for the best results every time.

I hadn't cleaned my cymbals in about a decade because it was the work involved didn't seem worth it. But my ride cymbal was looking particularly bad. I never heard of Zims until I saw it on Steve Weiss' site I am thrilled with the results! I used a spray nozzle from glass cleaner so the cleaner was evenly applied. I waited a minute and rinsed it off. My ride cymbal looks brand new and it is 56 years old. I eventually clay my cymbals and they all sparkle. If you prefer to clean your cymbals, use Zims, you will be pleased.

A gotta have for cymbals in FL. Humidity and salt air keep turning my cymbals green! Zim's is GREAT!

I've slaved for years trying to keep my traditional A. Zildjian cymbals looking good; but with Zims you just spray it on, wait 1 minute (as you watch the cymbal start to shine), then rinse well on both sides, dry it, then repeat for the other side. As a word of caution, I'd advise doing the cleaning outside, and using rubber gloves to keep the cleaner off your hands. I was so impressed with the first bottle that I quickly ordered 2 more. So, if you have old dull 'traditional' finish cymbals, this stuff is AMAZING!!!

I've tried EVERYTHING else, but this stuff is simply incredible! I have traditional Zildjian cymbals, and this stuff cleaned them easier than any other product. No rubbing, no black fingers (& towels & table)... just spray it on, wait 1 minute, rinse well, then dry. Repeat for the other side and you're done! I'll be buying Zims from now on! Awesome product!
