The construction of these superball mallets is solid. The shafts are made out of fiberglass and they are nested inside the ball itself in a manner that appears to be unbreakable. They work very well, right out of the bag, and my only wish is that they came in a wider variety of sizes, both smaller and larger.
These are the best commercially available superballl mallets that I've tried. The others have either not worked well or the ball comes off the shaft. After using for about a year, I've never had one fail. I do wish they would sell them in sets of four or at least in matched pairs.
The AP Superball mallets work great with getting the tone I am looking for out of my cymbals and waterphone.
