Description

The Moongel Damper Pads are self-adhesive gel pads that stick to the surface of drums, cymbals, and most percussion instruments. It is easy to achieve a desired sound by simply moving the damper pad around the surface. The pads eliminate any unwanted resonance, and obtain the exact sound the situation demands. No tacky residue is left on the surface. The Non-toxic damper pad is washable and will retain its stickiness for years of service.



Application Notes:

  • The Moongel Damper Pad can be cut to any desirable size for those situations that call for a minimum amount of damping. For maximum resonance control place one damper pad at 12 o'clock or 6 o'clock, and a second damper pad at 3 o'clock or 9 o'clock.

I am an amateur percussionist and play timpani parts on rototoms for a small community concert band. Some of these parts have fast, articulated passages, and these moongels placed on the underside of rototom heads reduce the resonance. The number of moongels needed can be altered to suit both the piece played and the acoustics of the performance space. The clear gels leave no color residue on the rototom heads. The gels are very easy to remove and reapply.

Moongel damper pads work great. They made a terrible sounding expensive snare drum sound great

I've used these to mute tom-toms for about a year now, and they've worked great ever since I got them. My only concern is, one of the six moongels I received when I purchased this was warped and bent out of shape (Not a rectangle). It is warped onto itself and bends and folds itself and will not sit reliably on a drum head rendering that one of six useless. Other than that, the other five I received work flawlessly and are still very very sticky.
