I got this chair for the foot rest and back support while playing guitar. I found myself slouching with horrible posture while practicing with my other stool. With the adjustable back, seat height and footrest height, I can dial in the most comfortable position. The wide seat is a bonus for long sits.
I needed a good stool for upright string bass playing. Ones that I have tried so far have started to give me pain in my lower back. My guess is the way my hips are tilted while sitting on the edge of a stool with my feet on the ground. This Roc-n- Soc has the bicycle style seat which feels like my weight is between my legs, not on the edge of my pelvis, so there is less tilting. It is much more comfortable and feels a lot better. While this is a pricey stool, it will be worth the investment to sit for hours at a time during gigs and be much more comfortable. I'm not sure if the back pain is completely relieved, but so far it has helped a lot. I've used it for a few months now. The cushioning definitely is a lot more comfortable than what I've been using.
This is worth the money! This chair helps me be much more positive when conducting bands all day.
I bought this chair to play guitar on and it's everything I have been looking for. The height range is great for playing guitar and being able to comfortably reach your pedalboard and the door the rest easily slides up and locks to control the height of the foot rest so you can make it fit the length of your legs to keep your leg at the right angle for your guitar to rest on. The seat cushion is extremely comfortable, thick pad which is firm yet soft at the same time and also swivels around. And lastly the back rest is adjustable but gives me great lower back support to keep me from hunching over too much and getting in pain. I have seen other chairs that have one or some of these features but this is the first that I have seen that has ALL of these features and it's great for guitar players as well. This sites service was also great and shipped my package VERY fast and packaged it very well too. Worth every dollar if you've been contemplating buying this.
