The Steve Weiss Large Rope Tuned Djembe delivers the classic djembe sound. The head is a 14" stretched calf skin that is rope tuned in a traditional African method. The hardwood shell is 25" tall and will produce rich, deep bass and crisp, precise overtones. This djembe performs for all levels of playing. Stave constructed and VERY lightweight for its size. Sounds very good for the price. Excellent rope and head. Obviously not an authentic single-piece drum but that's not why you're looking at it. Highly recommended.
Beautiful craftsmanship and grand size and sound. Mine came with a really nice travel bag, which was a lovely surprise. Great drum that Steve Weiss would be very proud of. We miss you Steve!
