cool instrument and I got good service
The Weiss Brand Gopichand is imported from India and is about as traditional as you can get. The Gopichand is considered more of a rhythmic instrument and is played by plucking the strings as the legs of the instrument are squeezed together creating a bending drone sound. This sound is instantly recognizable and is heard throughout Indian folk and traditional music.

A good entry Gopichand for your percussion arsenal...
The string broke on day one, but I expected that. Took the instrument to a music store and got some advice on a replacement string (went for a slightly thicker guitar string), cost $1. It was fun to restring, and now it plays well. It actually belongs to my son, but we all mess with it, and it's a blast to play. I recommend this enjoyable and inexpensive instrument -- just know you might have to buy a new string now and then. 10/10 recommend.
This instrument works great for the second movement of "I-Ching" by Per Norgard.
