These were purchased for my son, who is a high school marching band percussionist. We got multiple pairs and he noted that the pairs of sticks are very well matched. Within a pair, the wood grain and weight of the sticks are identical, but if you compare two sticks from different pairs they are slightly different. Great quality control on these!
Great tenor stick
These sticks are great for any tenor drummer. The sticks have a great balance of weight and are great to play with. If you're looking for a new pair to try out I would definitely recommend these.
I have heard about and seen this stick in action. I had not tried it until now. The description is accurate and the feel is EXCELLENT!! I have tried many models and this one is now at the top of my list. I would recommend this to a friend.
I hardly ever give 5's when giving a review. But that's how happy I am with this product. I called around to all the music stores near me and no one carried these specific sticks. I got them speedy fast and got them when they were promised! If I need another set I will definitely be ordering from you! Thank you so much!
Exactly the tenor sticks my son needed. Shipping was surprisingly fast!
Bought these sticks for my indoor group this last season and they have been fantastic. The durability of the heads lasted all season and then some. The rubber butts added a great contrast in timbre for softer sections of our show. My tenor players were young and spent their first season behind the drums with these and I would like to contribute some of their success to these sticks. The sticks have great response off the drums allowing the students to learn to control rebound, and the design of the tips allowed the young players to get around the drums and hit their zones easily. I recommend these sticks to anyone who is looking for a great stick.
These sticks are great for modern tenor drumming. All the weight of the stick is in the back, which makes throwing those huge beads into the head easier. The beads are really articulate but they don't get in the way. The sticks feel great in the hands. Highly recommend.
Both sounds are huge and very clear. We'll see how the nylon holds up to a season of wear, but it's very tough and NOT a cheap rubber sleeve. I'm impressed so far!
These sticks were several years in the making, and let me tell you, it was worth it. From the size and shape of the bead, to the feel of the stick, to the innovative use of the latex sleeve on the butt end, this stick is as close to perfection as you can get. After five minutes playing around on the drum, I knew these sticks were great. The weight distribution is weighted towards the front (just how I like it), which was surprising as I thought the latex sleeve would weigh the butt end down. Innovative Percussion did a great job putting the weight in the "sweet spot" to make these sticks feel great. The quality of sound is also amazing. The fat Taj Mahal-style bead gives a large contact point on the drum head, resulting in a big, beefy, quality sound with minimal effort. The response off the head is great. I didn't feel too much fatigue after a lengthy playing session. The latex sleeve on the butt end is an interesting and innovative idea. Upon playing with them, they feel nearly identical to the bead end. In sticks that have tried similar ideas, like the swizzles, there is a noticeable difference in feel between the bead and swizzle end, and the almost instantaneous change in feel could take a few bars to get used to. Not the case with these. In addition to feeling the same, it is nearly indistinguishable in sound between a latex sleeve and a felt head. The only thing that holds me back from worshipping this stick is the overall weight. It's not the fastest stick, and unless you have massive chops, you will probably need a lighter stick for extremely fast and demanding passages, like fast sweeps and extremely fast rolls. But overall, this stick earns my approval and adoration, and will surely become the standard stick for tenor drummers everywhere.
