It's a bell tree, but not good. Short sustain, pitches out of order, no real presence. Get it if you need it, but you can go with a better one if you're going to use it a lot.

Arrived in good shape and exactly what I needed, Great quality instrument with great tone.
Good quality bell tree. Worth the money
Nice bell tree for the price. A little thinner sounding than the LP and the wing nuts on the stand mount are a little too wide as they are difficult to fully tighten. Other than that a good value.
Me being the 'doubting Thomas' thought, "No, I'm not buying a Steve Weiss bell tree, I'll go with a big name brand.". This to my detriment. I bought a Meinl bell tree from Sam Ash on Amazon for a heftier price and it showed up in pieces, washers and screws missing, with the stem of the bell tree bent in the shape of letter J. It went back straight away. Mind you, Sam Ash is quite good with their return policy and they obviously didn't open the box before shipping. So, I bought the Steve Weiss instead and it showed up on the porch just as it should in pristine perfect condition and also sounds great. Make up your own mind- I did.
Sounds great, fast delivery. Love that the rack holds the mallets. Great for storing without losing the damn things. Used in on its feet, no problem.
Price is great at $159.00 but quality of the bells is poor. Although they look good, the pitch isn't consistent and some bigger bells have a pitch higher than others four bells away. I think it has something to do with the thickness of each bell. The thinner the bell, the lower the pitch. Also some bells have a nice sustain in the ringing, others do not.
I purchase products from you for my son who is a high school band director and professional percussionist. He comments that, " your products are clearly the best quality and hold up extremely well." He particularly liked the feature of the bell tree that it could be mounted as needed.
At first my intention was to send this back and get the Meinl which I found out was back ordered. Earl, the extremely thorough customer service rep, modified the return "window" on these so I could use them in the show I needed them for. After doing the run they sort of wore on me and I have decided to keep them. Don't get me wrong, they do sound quite good. I feel the LP tree I compared them to sounded better, but not by much and the $100 difference just doesn't seem worth after using them. They will be on my stand for my next show starting next week.
Excellent sounding instrument at a significantly discounted price. I use this regularly for professional performances. The mounting clamp may need some additional washers to aid in secure mounting (it's a heavy instrument) but for the price this can't be beaten!
Beautiful sound for good price. Like the supplied brass mallets. But... mounting bar does not come set with best installation, bolts on clamp were installed backwards, and clamp does not come with washers and rubber plate needed to keep unit from sliding down a poll. Suggest altering rubber washers and brass sleeve positioning so tree is evenly spaced on the stand. If you look at the photo above you'll see there is too much space at the top of the rod and all the rubber washers are at the top. If you split them up and move two rubber sets to bottom, the tree is centered better and has beneficial rubber washers above and below.
What a great purchase! This Steve Weiss bell kit had just as much quality as some of the bigger name brands but for a fraction of the price. It produces such a great sound. Contrary to what it says in the description, mine did come with two brass mallets.
After wanting an orchestral bell tree for a number of years I was glad to find this model offered by Steve Weiss Music at about 1/2 the cost of the other brand. When it arrived I was very pleased - this is not some small imitation, but a full sized well made bell tree. I added a few washers to the mounting set up to fit my use, and I would recommend at least adding a washer at each wing nut if you plan to mount it on stand. Playing it live the first time was a joy. Using brass mallets ordered separately, it has a very rich sound and as I had hoped the individual notes come through loud and clear too. A great product!
