Evans Glass 500 Snare Side Drum Head

I love this head, unfortunately I am not a hard hitter and don't see myself ever needing to be (don't see those sorts of gigs popping up). I've tried this head on a 14"x12" field drum and boy does it seem like a I have to throw the stick down with great force to get the snares to snap. I've even had to use much thicker and much heavier sticks. I've also tried this head on a 14"x8" free floating steel snare drum and even regular Vic Firth Rock or Metal drumsticks wouldn't cut through to this head. I had to use marching snare drum sticks to really get this resonant head to speak and come alive. Long story short, get this head if you are a heavy hitter and play at monstrous volumes. Evans Hazy 300 or 200 will work for all other drummers.
