This book is great, no matter what level you are on. If you are a beginner needing to learn blues, or a more advanced player looking for a challenge, its all there. Mr. Lipner gives a handful of jazz standards arranged for both 2 and 4 mallets, from just learning the melody, to melody with the bass roots, up to 4 mallet arrangements, and the steps in between...all of these steps on each tune. It's really terrific because if you are like me, and live in a small town with no teacher, this book can really help you. Having a small number of tunes with variety, like "Waltz for Debby", and "Bag's Groove"... you can use these methods as a jumping off point, its a really nice way to learn to play solo jazz vibraphone.
