Great idea

Comments:

This stick - a standard 5A with a round bead - is a great idea! So great that I remember talking about the very idea with a student, about a year before these first hit the market. When they became available, we both went and got some, and lo and behold, the idea holds up. Vic Firth's standard 5A is just about the perfect all-around drumset stick, but the balance of the AS5A is actually even a bit better, since it has just a bit more rebound feel. Since the round tip provides that response we look for on concert snare drums, this stick is a better option than the horrendously awkward, rebound-less SD1 (for players of any size, but especially) for kids with smaller hands. It is also versatile enough to go from concert band to jazz band, so you don't need as many sticks in your bag. (More room for brushes and rods and other things that actually make different sounds!)

Amazing

Comments:

These are some of the best sticks I have ever put my hands on. The tips sounds great on a ride cymbal and the thickness is perfect. Not to mention the fact that they are GORGEOUS.

My favorites

Comments:

I use these for everything. Their light weight gives them speed and quickness, so they're great for orchestral or jazz playing. The ball tip is perfect for just about anything, in my opinion. The balance in these sticks is amazing. They're not too light though... you can still get lots of power if you want to. Very versatile and yet still great for everything. LOVE them.
