I have some Tuxedo bags from a few years ago and they proudly display the "Made in the USA" tag on the outside of the bag. On the new bags that tag has been replaced with "14x22" or whatever the size of the bag is.
Concealed on the inside of the bag, I was very disappointed to find a tag that says "Made in China". So far the quality seems good though I think the older exterior material was a bit more durable.

Just as a drummer likely has his heart, soul and bank account invested in his/her drums a serious amateur or professional astronomer is invested in his/her telescopes. I have a couple of very large Newtonian reflectors that break down into parts for transport. A drum bag is the perfect case for protecting the upper tube assembly during transport or storage. There may be a less expensive bag available somewhere but the Tuxedo line is an easy investment compared to the cost of most equipment in the astronomy domain. What counts is the density of the foam padding, the tear-resistance of the outer shell, the durability and alignment of the zippers, the stitching and the fit. My Humes and Berg Tuxedo bass drum bags meet all these criteria. The upper tube assembly of a large Dobsonian-style telescope resembles a drum but doesn't follow a drum's typical measurement formats so you have to do some measuring and comparing to make sure you're buying the right size. I ordered a bag too big the first time but Steve Weiss had no problem with the exchange for a smaller size.
In short, this line of drum bags will protect your investment for a reasonable price and it will hold up for the life of your scope.

Perfect for my vintage '75 Slingerland kick drum - which is an odd size by today's standards - 14" x 24". it's cool that H&B still make that size. I would recommend for any size kick.
