Comments:
not a tall bag, can't hold my marimba one mallets without having to expand the edges farther than they were made to go. if it were a taller bag it would be of great use

This bag sucks

Comments:
This bag is great in theory, but sucks in reality. While I like that this bag can hold a lot of mallets, this fact will not allow the bag to be flapped opened easily (like a book) due to the weight of all the mallets contained within. The zippers are too small to be managed quickly and they are made out of plastic, which means they break easily. One of these plastic zippers on my bag no longer zips up becuase it was just not durable enough. The zipper-tabs themselves should also be made bigger so that there is something larger to grab onto; and they should also be made out of metal and not plastic, so that they will not break. The bag is too short to accomodate longer marimba mallets, and the outer covering of the bag is pretty weak as well. One time I reached for the carrying handles in order to pick the bag up and part of the outer covering around the handles ripped away. This bag is not rigid enough also; you cannot set this bag down and expect it to stand upright (as it should); it will slump over each time, which is annoying. While I like most of the products by this manufacturer (Mike Balter), this product should be avoided.

OK Bag

Comments:
I would have to agree with the other reviews. This bag is decent & it does the job... just not as well as other bags in the same price-range (Ie: the Vic Firth CKBAG). I bought this because one of my colleagues owned it, and it looked pretty good. But after using it for myself I realize it isn't as great as I was led to believe. The zipper is very small and there is no soft lining inside (the entire bag is constructed of nylon), and unless each pocket is full the mallets will flop around because each pocket is pretty large and the lack of a head-cover. There are no outside pockets, or pencil pockets, and the "accessory" pockets are pretty poorly constructed (you can barely fit anything in there). I do like the "block" build of this bag since it makes it very easy to open and close (you don't have to force the bag shut to close it). If the Vic Firth Concert Bag didn't exist then this would be a good find for the price, but if I were you I'd go for the firth - which is what I'm going to do once I get another $50!
