This stand works great. However, if you have an active hihat foot (i.e. you keep time with it and/or do lots of hihat barks), you should probably mount this on another cymbal stand. That isn't a shortcoming of this stand, it is just a reality of how much movement a hihat stand can make.
I read the reviews, then shrugged my shoulders. I bought it thinking that this either would or wouldn't work with my drum kit. (It's a bit busy in the cockpit...) it works great. I had to raise a cymbal up a bit, but for the first time on 52 years of drumming, I am not placing printed material on a drum to try to read, play around the music, or simply hold the music in place. Could be a bit smaller
Im a recreational drummer, so for the occasional gig I gotta (re-)memorize (old and) new songs fast - this curved pole plus infinitely adjustable 2-grip clamp lets me keep my notes, phone, etc.. right in front of me in the viewspace above my snare Kudos!
Cool idea for a practical, space-saving stand. May be okay for quiet playing - musicals, etc. - but if you play hard and the hi-hat stand vibrates a little, any music on the stand will slide right off. Which is annoying.
I picked up the Manhasset 53D Hi-Hat Drummer Music Stand to use for gigs where I need lyrics. It attached nicely to the hi-hat stand. It's easy to setup and I took up less floor space which really helps in tight setup areas.
Just what I was looking for!. I attached it to the cymbal stand. Perfect location where it is out of the way, but close enough to read the drum sheets. No additional stands to get caught up with all the other drum equipment. Love it!!!
Manhasset music stands great company great quality and made in the USA. "I like that" this I'll use on my practice kit at home with study books....however on a club gig I think little smaller version tray would fit the bill quite nicely.
