This stand works great. However, if you have an active hihat foot (i.e. you keep time with it and/or do lots of hihat barks), you should probably mount this on another cymbal stand. That isn't a shortcoming of this stand, it is just a reality of how much movement a hihat stand can make.

I read the reviews, then shrugged my shoulders. I bought it thinking that this either would or wouldn't work with my drum kit. (It's a bit busy in the cockpit...) it works great. I had to raise a cymbal up a bit, but for the first time on 52 years of drumming, I am not placing printed material on a drum to try to read, play around the music, or simply hold the music in place. Thanks!

Im a recreational drummer, so for the occasional gig I gotta (re-)memorize (old and) new songs fast - this curved pole plus infinitely adjustable 2-grip clamp lets me keep my notes, phone, etc.. right in front of me in the viewspace above my snare Kudos!

Cool idea for a practical, space-saving stand. May be okay for quiet playing - musicals, etc. - but if you play hard and the hi-hat stand vibrates a little, any music on the stand will slide right off. Which is annoying.
