LP Udu Drum - Mbwata - Product Information
This LP Udu Drum is the Mbwata model. The textures produced from each chamber are rich and different. The lower rounded chamber produces mellow, round, dry bass tones. The Sounds created from the upper chamber are similar to those sounds of the Indian tabla or Middle Eastern dumbek.
The LP Udu Drum has a clay construction based upon centuries-old traditions. Sometimes referred to as an Ibo Drum the name is derived from the Nigerian language meaning pottery. This drum is played by hitting any part of the drum with the hands and fingertips. A large variety of tones and pitches contribute to the complex percussive patterns Udu Drums are known for.
