Designed for the solo marimba performer, the Vic Firth Virtuoso Series features a rubber core wrapped with a wool blend yarn for an enhanced warm and full-bodied sound. The handles are made of birch with a unique "slip-resistant" finish for excellent feel and enhanced control. A fine choice in ensemble settings as well.

The M213 is a very solid choice for a performer. A great all-around mallet for the marimba. The mallet is not too soft where you can't get a bold sound out of the marimba, and it's not too hard to where you might crack the wood. Very nice mallet.

Vic Firth Virtuoso Series Keyboard Mallets - Medium Hard are wonderfully articulate, but still incredibly warm sounding. They are ideal for the mid to upper range of the marimba.

M213 is just the perfect mallets for solos with harder touches. M214 is too hard for solos actually so i really recommend 213. However, 211 and 212 were always the best for all kind of music.
