Kessner-Knocktet, A (SP)-P

A Knocktet by Daniel Kessner is an octet for unpitched percussion. For this piece, the eight players choose three instruments (low, medium, high). Kessner writes, "While most of my music seeks perhaps greater heights or depths, this work is truly a divertimento. Its origin is to be found in a word-play, a riddle. What do you call a piece for eight percussionists playing unpitched instruments? A knocktet!"
