I bought this very loud whistle for self protection/disrupting public harassment as I work downtown at night in a city where this sometimes happens, unfortunately, on the weekends. It is perfect! SO LOUD! I feel better having it hanging on my keychain. Really reasonable price for a quality whistle!

The Acme Thunderer Whistle worked perfectly in the West Side Story Symphonic Dances concert last night.

They don't call it the 'Thunderer' for nothing.

Man, is this whistle loud. It should have no problem cutting through sound. Perfect for the theater percussionist.
