Henderickx-Alla Turca (SP)-P

Alla Turca by Wim Henderickx for percussion trio. This five movement work was based on the percussion score of the opera Een Totale Entfuhrüng which was composed in 2005. Each movement in this work has its own identity and instrumentation which were inspired by the rhythmical and metrical structures of the Arabic and particularly the Turkish music. The instrumentation consists of three derbukas, two riqs (Turkish tambourine), and a bendir (Arab hand drum). The five movements are titled I. Presto, II. Prestissimo, III. Moderato, IV. Larghetto, and V. Presto.
