Block-Apollo (SP)-M/VC

Apollo by Caryn Block for cello and 4.3 octave marimba. The marimba part can be played with four or six mallets. This piece is the final movement of the multi-movement work Odyssey for marimba and cello. Each movement in this duet has its own character to depict the diversity of life and society in Ancient Greece, with its magnificent legacy in the fine arts. The music has been flexibly composed in such a way that a percussionist and cellist may perform one or two movements alone or ODYSSEY in its entirety.
