Terence Mayhue's arrangment of Beethoven's String Quartet in c minor, Mvt. 4 for marimba quartet is a great example of how string music can be transported to the percussion medium. Mayhue's arrangement is well-suited to marimba quartet and would be a perfect fit on a recital or concert.
