Gernot Blume's Sprachlos is inspired by many of the world's musical languages that emphasize the human voice primarily as an instrument rather than a vehicle for transporting meaning. Sprachlos for mixed choir and percussion encompasses many of the ethnic languages from different parts of the world, such as Kecak (Balinese), Alap (North Indian raga), Tantra (Tibetan Buddhist chanting) and more. This piece is an incredible journey through the world of vocal music as well as percussive music.
