Unseen Child is one of my favorite percussion ensemble pieces that I've had the chance to work on. Read the poem before you listen - just trust me, it'll make so much more since. But the cymbal part is my favorite part because Bob Becker leaves more of the artistic freedom up to the performer. I tried out over one hundred cymbals that I could get access to in order to find the "perfect" sounds that I was looking for. If you want a piece to dig into and have the opportunity to use your imagination and creativity with, this is it!
