Bobo-Hemispheres (SP)-B/2V/2M/P

Hemispheres by Kevin Bobo was commissioned by Dr. Dennis Rogers and the Missouri Western State University Percussion Ensemble in 2008. The pieces is an exploration of several musical syles found throughout the world. While the music of some cultures will be more obvious than others, Hemispheres draws its influence from the music of Indonesia, India, Cuba, Spain, Japan, and parts of West Africa.

Percussion 1 - metal pipe, bongos, small tom, glockenspiel, opera gong

Percussion 3 - metal pipe, vibraphone, medium woodblock, bass drum, bass bow (for vibes)Percussion 4 - marimba (4.3 octave), medium & large toms, bass drum, kazoo
Percussion 5 - metal pipe, marimba (4.3 octave), maracas, mounted finger cymbal, 3 graduated mixing bowls (ceramic), A-natural crotale (lower octave) on timpani

Internationally acclaimed marimbist and percussionist, Kevin Bobo is currently serving as Associate Professor of Music (Percussion) at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music.
