Bobo-Solitude (SP)-2V

When composing Solitude, I wanted to musically capture the feeling of isolation and several of the emotions that come with it. When voluntary, solitude can be a positive experience presenting an opportunity to become more centered or to complete personal projects. When involuntary the feeling of isolation and loneliness can be overwhelming. While it is ironic that a piece titled Solitude would be anything other than an unaccompanied solo, the musical demands were simply too impractical for one vibraphonist. Rather than musically restrict what was in my head, I decided to score it for two players instead of one.
