This is a nice grade 4 (on the easier side), two-mallet piece for the marimba player, but needs an experienced pianist. It was the 1996 PAS Composition Contest winner, but seems to be forgotten. The challenges include: no key signature, many accidentals, since it shifts tonal centers, predominantly in compound meters, but shifts to simple meters. The technical demands are not great, some playing in octaves, shifts to grand staff, needs a low A instrument. Highly recommended for advanced high school or early college players.
