An internationally-known composer, author, educator, clinician, and arranger, Tom Brown has received ASCAP's eight Popular Award and his 39th Standard Award in recognition of internationally performed compositions and recordings, and is credited with over 400 published works. He is founder of the New York State School Music Association All-State Jazz Ensemble and has served on the faculties of Skidmore College, The College of St. Rose, Union College, SUNY College at Albany and Schenectady County Community College.

Good for beginner drummers mostly.

The solos are fairly well written. The solos do progress in difficulty, but in my opinion, they don't reach intermediate level. Triplets and some coordination skills are required on some solos being the most challenging the solos get. I have my own solos and books written as well, I sell them and teach from them, also Boothe Brothers Music sells them. This book was to add variety for my students playing in recitals.
