Clapping Rhythm by Norio Fukushi was presented to Atsushi Sugahara's percussion ensemble group "Percussion Museum" on the second day of "Exhibition of Contemporary Music 2000 DAGAKU-I" in the 8th Asahi Modern Music Prize Anniversary contest. This composition was played elegently with tailcoats at the premiere. But, don't be nervous about performing this composition! You could include any kinds of singing, performances; even the numbers of people are not decided. The rhythm is restricted strictly, but you could repeat as many times as you want, and wherever you want those are not indicated in the music. In 2002, the students of Tokyo College of Music played this piece with dancing! There are various kinds of expression, so find out what is fun for you!
