Finley-Cold Light (SP)-Solo M/B/V/M/DS/P

Cold Light by Benjamin Finley for solo marimba with percussion quartet. The title is a term the composer came up with to describe those winter days common in the western United States when the sky is clear with the sun bright, distant, and low, and the air is dru, crystalline, and nearly always carried by a swift crosswind.

Instrumentation:
Player 1 - 5-octave marimba
Player 2 - glockenspiel, high Native American drum (or quinto)
Player 3 - vibraphone, medium Native American drum (or conga)
Player 4 - 5-octave marimba, low Native American drum (or djembe), triangle
Player 5 - drumset, small chamber bass drum
