Contest Ensembles for Young Percussionists by Murray Houllif is a collection of ten contest worthy selections featuring a good variety of musical styles including Latin, classical, waltz, jazz, march, polka, rock, country, flamenco, and rudimental. These quintets require common instruments that can be found in most music classrooms - snare drum, bass drum, cymbals, cowbells, two timpani, tambourine, castanets, woodblock, tom tom, and triangle.
