Description

Lullaby for PJ by Nathan Daughtrey is dedicated to the composer's beautiful baby daughter, born on May 9, 2016. Originally written as a duet for bells and vibraphone in the collection "Duology: 10 Duets for Young Percussionists," the piece has been expanded to include more accessory instruments, providing young percussion ensembles to join in the fun. Unlike most of the piece in the Ignite series, this work exposes students to playing delicately at a fairly slow tempo.

Picked up these piece for my beginning percussion ensemble. Nathan is an amazing composer and really knows how to write some great works. This one is no different. If you want to teach your kids about expressing emotion through their playing, this piece will teach just that. The tempo is perfect, the part writing really fits together well, and the tension in this piece really builds until that final melodic statement. Pick this one up for your percussion ensemble today!
