Power-Densities(SP)

Densities by Richard Power for percussion quartet. This piece explores the various thickness of texture found within this particular grouping of percussion instruments. While the typical envelope of these instruments consists of an immediate attack and a quick decay, many can also create the illusion of a sustained sound through the technique of rolling.

Instrumentation:
Player 1 - bass marimba, bongos, hi-hat
Player 2 - 2 woodblocks, guiro, timbales, thunder sheet, low tom, high pitched cymbal
Player 3 - snare drum, bongos
Player 4 - vibraphone, low pitched cymbal, claves, snare drum, large tam tam, metal wind chimes, crotales
