Dettra Percussion Pitched Bamboo Tube - G3

Pitched Bamboo Tubes are a new innovation on a very old instrument. They are inspired by Tamboo Bamboo of Trinidad and Tobago, Quitiplas of Venezuela, and Tongatong of the Philippines. They are played by striking the closed, bottom end on a hard or soft surface. They can also be played with a mallet or stick on the side of the bamboo or with a slap mallet on the top, open end. They are traditionally used as rhythm instruments or to make melodies much like a bell choir. Ranging in size from approximately 6 to 52 inches, they are colored coded like Boomwhackers with the pitch letter written on the bottom. They are also very similar in sound and style to the pvc "slapaphone" instrument the Blue Man Group uses.
