Description
A Lion Dance is a traditional dance form found in Chinese culture and other Asian countries. Skilled performers mimic a lion's movements in an ornamented costume. Lion Dances are performed throughout the world for many occasions, such as holiday celebrations, festivals, parades, ceremonies, and to honor special events or guests. This work for percussion quintet by Brandon Dittgen replicates timbres authentic to eastern drum ensembles with common western instrumentation. It offers featured moments for each player, and will be a welcomed addition of new sounds and styles on your next concert.
