Drouet-18 Progressive Studies 3:Timpani

For this collection, I invited Philippe LEROUX, composer and Jean-Pierre DROUET, percussionist and composer, to write 4 series of studies in 20 volumes. These studies are founded on a technique requiring from 2 to 4 sticks or mallets, on independence between hands and feet, on music expression, sound quality as well as on the interpretation of music of our epoch.

Each of these studies is the first part of a longer piece for which one will find the sequel in the following volume and the end in the last one. So Study #6 in this volume, followed by #6 of the next volume and #6 of the last one, will constitute a complete piece (but each #6 may nonetheless be played separately).
