Ehlers-Superhero (SP)-2V/Cro./3M/4T/P

This exciting and challenging percussion septet uses heroic chord progressions throughout which gives a cinematic quality. Each player is given an opportunity to shine and the ensemble is full of interesting textures. Superhero is great piece if you are looking to showcase seven of your top students!

• Player 1: Vibraphone, floor tom (or other large tom)
• Player 2: Vibraphone, impact drum (or surdo)
• Player 3: Marimba (4.3 octave), bongos
• Player 4: Marimba (4.3 octave), China and splash cymbals, ribbon crasher
• Player 5: Marimba (5 octave), 2 brake drums
• Player 6: Timpani (4 drums)
• Player 7: Crotales (2 octaves), sizzle cymbal*, suspended cymbal*, hi-hat, wind chimes, snare drum, klick drum, 4 concert toms

*Instrument substitutions are encouraged for these cymbal sounds.

Suggestions would include a ride cymbal for some suspended cymbal notes or a swish knocker for some sizzle cymbal notes.
