Russell, A.-Equinox Sonata-M

Equinox Sonata by Armand Russell is a four mallet solo scored for 4.3 octave marimba. This single movement work has the feel of three separate movements. Written in the vicinity of Mt. Equinox in Vermont in the period just following the vernal equinox, the piece reflects the preparation for the impact of renewal and rebirth as represented by the changes leading to spring.
