Evans Sound Shaping Technology (SST) controls overtones across every drum in the pack, with each SST damping ring individually calibrated to its drum diameter rather than shared across sizes. This size-specific approach means the 6" spock head is engineered for its own resonant characteristics, and so is the 14", and every size in between. Two identical plies of 7mil film bring each head to a total thickness of 14mil, with a specially designed hoop built to handle the high-tension demands of marching percussion throughout the season.
