Excursions for marimba and piano by Richard Anderson begins with a high energy duet that puts the players on equal footing. Only two mallets are needed. The second movement is a moving chorale like feature for four mallets while the third movement returns to the fast paced two mallet style with tons of exciting rhythmic motives.
