First Note Flutophone

With over 50 million sold, the Trophy Flutophone® remains the definitive introductory wind instrument for elementary music education. Originally introduced in 1943, it is widely recognized by music educators as the most approachable, playable first step before transitioning students to traditional band and woodwind instruments.

Standard soprano recorders often frustrate beginner musicians due to wide finger spacing and flush tone holes that leak air. The Flutophone addresses these challenges directly with child-centric ergonomic design:

• Raised Tone Holes: Guided rims provide tactile feedback so small fingers seal holes completely without squeaking or air leakage.
• Shorter Finger Spacing: Scaled specifically for early elementary hand spans, reducing hand and wrist strain.
• Integrated Thumb Rest: Encourages proper instrument support, stable posture, and balanced hand placement from day one.
• Responsive Direct-Blow Mouthpiece: Instantly produces clear, steady tones with gentle breath support to build confidence quickly.
• Classroom-Durable Build: Seamless, impact-resistant molded plastic withstands daily student use and washes clean easily with warm water and mild soap.
