David R. Gillingham's Five Fantasies of Natural Origin for Marimba and Flute duet was commissioned by Elizabeth Sadilek and Barry Larkin of Iowa State University.
All of the five movements of this work carry titles derived from the animal kingdom, inspired by the composer's brother (who is a noted herpetologist at Central Michigan University).
