Description
Tim Forline's percussion trio with timpani "13" is a composition written in response to triskaidekaphobia, an abnormal fear of the number 13. The work depicts the maddening effects that are triggered by both rational and irrational fears. The number 13 is used as the organizing principal for both time and phrasing throughout the piece. "13" is accompanied by a video montage that expresses the history and origin of triskaidekaphobia while symbolizing general fears and chaos that attribute to phobias in everyday life.
The video montage was made by Jose Rangel.
