Description
Friends by David Macbride for percussion ensemble. The ensemble is divided into two groups (A&B) and each group has a leader. Each group should have the same amount of players. The ensemble should all play the same type of instrument while the soloist should play a different instrument.
This piece was written after Macbride observed master classes by Glen Velez at the Hartt School. It combines traditional rhythmic, movement, and vocalization materials of many world cultures (particularly India) with a contemporary Western composer's sensibilities.
