I like the stand and the flat-base retro look. It handles my heavy, 16" Bosphorus Masters hats very well. While the pedal doesn't appear to have a lot of travel before it hits the floor, it does fine. My sole beef is that I think the footboard is a bit small--but not enough to pull a star.
