We wanted a different style bag to help differentiate from all the other standard black stick bags, for our daughter as she enters beginning band. This gave her that, plus the ability to carry it easier as the sling pack, leaving her hands free. It has plenty of room for her required sticks and mallets (3 pars of mallets, 1 pair of sticks) and could hold a few more. The quality seems to be good but we'll see how it holds up through the hands of an 11 year old and beginning band.
